I was given Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons The Modern Fundamentals of Golf to read. The book was written in 1957 and from what I’ve heard is still the first book a golf professional will recommend to a new golfer. I will report back after reading but I feel confident in saying it should be a good read or it wouldn’t be getting recommended in 2009.

My Impressions

I will be the first to admit that reading books is not my thing.  Of course I do plenty of reading but a book really has to capture me quickly or I lose interest and don’t pick it back up.  This book had me from beginning to end.  The chapters are very short and tell a great story.  At the end of each chapter he sums up what he learned from the experience and how we could use that in our own lives.

I would recommend this book to anyone.  It’s about mountain climbing but the real lessons are about life, leadership, courage, strength, determination and most importantly teamwork.
