New Gmail Feature – Undo Send

March 22nd, 2009

On Thursday Google Labs added a feature called Undo Send.  It gives you 5 seconds to undo your email before it gets sent.  I think we have all had times where this would have saved us so just enable it in your settings and it will be there when you need it.

Realtime Twitter Search Results on Google

March 3rd, 2009

realtime twitter search results on googleI have come across two sites that have utilized twitters realtime search and integrated it into Google.  The advantage of this is that you can get current information on your search that Google has yet to index all within your browser window. All you need is to be a Firefox user, the Greasemonkey Add-on and these two sites:

MT-Hacks.com – adds the 5 news tweets to the top of the search results

Facesaerch.com – adds the 10 newest tweets to a newly created link on the blue bar.

Since these are new methods of using Twitter and Google I do not yet have an opinon on how well it works.  I wonder how quick spammers will use Twitter to get their info on the top of  search results.

Check it out and see what you think for yourself.

Cooktime – A Simple Countdown Timer

January 25th, 2009

If  you are on your computer all the time like I am then this little tool might be helpful to you.  Let’s set the stage.  You put your food in the oven, set the oven timer, but then go into your office to do some work.  Unfortunately you start listening to music or just don’t hear the timer go off.  Your timer then becomes the smoke alarm.  That’s no good.

With Cooktime you can choose from 4 presets times or make a custom timer.  You won’t burn you food anymore.  If you still do then I really can’t help you.

Add a personal image to your iGoogle page

January 24th, 2009

Have ever you wanted to add a personal image to you iGoogle page?

Now you can because Google has opened up the Themes API.   If you want a little heads up so you don’t have to keep uploading and resizing the image look in your display settings of your control panel and find out what the resolution of your screen is.  If you make your image that size or as close to it as possible you will have yourself a nice new custom iGoogle page.
