Get Help With Your Computer Right Now
Do you ever get the call from a friend or family member that starts off like this?
“My computer is running really slow and all of these windows keep popping up.” If you haven’t then you are very lucky and I want to be your friend, but for most of us this is a very common situation with the Internet today.
Luckily there are two FREE programs that make my life easier that I’m going to share with you. The first is called LogMeIn. Once you create an account and install LogMeIn that computer can be logged into remotely as long as the person that is connecting knows the password of that computer. All you have to do is send an invite to whomever you want to have access to your computer. This is of course a life saver when your Mom, Dad and Sister call ( I love you guys ) asking for help for any number of reasons. I just log into my account and remote into any of their computers, fix the problem and log out. I recommend this program for those people that are comfortable having someone connect to their computer even if you aren’t present. There is a way to disable the LogMeIn program so someone can’t connect when you are not at the computer.
Another program that I use is called CrossLoop. This program basically does the same thing but you can only connect to the other persons computer with an access code. It’s very lightweight and easy for the other person to install. Once it’s installed just run it and tell your tech the access code. Depending on your firewall settings you may have to confirm the connection but everything else is done for you automatically.
There are many other programs out there like these, but I have found them to be extremely easy to install and work with. And don’t forget they are both totally FREE.
Next time you get that call, tell them to download CrossLoop, let you connect, send them off to dinner and you will fix their problem.
